Peer Reviewer Process
Research articles submitted to this online journal will undergo a peer-review process before publication. Accepted articles will be published online and made freely accessible for download after completing the journal review process. The journal accepts manuscripts in both Indonesian and English.
Reviewing scientific manuscripts is an important academic responsibility and a valuable contribution to the advancement of science. Therefore, the Editorial Board of JIK UMC highly appreciates the dedication of reviewers in maintaining the quality of scientific publications. JIK UMC implements a rapid, fair, and objective double-blind peer-review system to ensure the publication of high-quality articles. The review process generally takes approximately 4–6 weeks.
Reviewers are expected to possess expertise in the relevant field, maintain objectivity and professionalism, and provide constructive feedback to help authors improve their manuscripts.
Responsibilities of Reviewers
Reviewers are expected to:
- Critically and constructively review manuscripts and provide detailed comments to help authors improve their work.
- Review revised versions of manuscripts when necessary.
- Submit review results within the specified deadlines.
- Provide recommendations to the editor regarding the suitability of manuscripts for publication.
- Declare any potential conflicts of interest to the editor.
- Report possible research or publication misconduct.
- Suggest alternative reviewers if unable to review the manuscript.
- Maintain the confidentiality of reviewed manuscripts.
- Refrain from using any part of the manuscript for personal purposes.
- Avoid direct communication with the authors.
- Keep reviewer identity anonymous.
- Not forward the manuscript to other parties without editorial permission.
- Ensure the manuscript demonstrates scientific quality and originality.
- Inform the editor if the manuscript is suspected to be under review elsewhere.
- Write review reports in Indonesian or English.
- Provide relevant scientific comments related to the reviewed article.
Review Criteria
Reviewers will evaluate the following aspects:
- Novelty of the research topic
- Originality of the manuscript
- Scientific validity and reliability
- Contribution to scientific development
- Addition of new perspectives to the related field of study
- Ethical aspects of the research
- Compliance with the journal author guidelines
- Adequacy and relevance of references
- Grammar, spelling, and punctuation
- Possible scientific misconduct or ethical violations
