Plagiarism Policy

INTI TALAFA strictly prohibits any form of plagiarism. Plagiarism is an academic misconduct and a violation of publication ethics. We are committed to maintaining the highest level of integrity in all published research.

All manuscripts submitted to INTI TALAFA will undergo a rigorous initial screening for originality before being sent to the reviewers. The editorial team uses Turnitin (or iThenticate) similarity check software to analyze the submitted manuscripts against published literature and web sources.

By submitting a manuscript to this journal, authors agree to the following terms regarding plagiarism:

  1. Originality Guarantee: Authors guarantee that the manuscript is their original work, has not been previously published in any language, and is not currently under consideration for publication elsewhere.

  2. Similarity Threshold: The maximum acceptable similarity index is 20% (excluding quotes and bibliography).

  3. Self-Plagiarism: Redundant publications or self-plagiarism (reusing one's own previously published work without proper citation) is also strictly prohibited.

  4. Proper Attribution: All ideas, data, words, and concepts taken from other sources must be properly cited and referenced according to the journal’s guidelines.

Actions against Plagiarism If a manuscript is found to contain a similarity index higher than the allowed threshold during the initial screening:

  • Minor similarities (e.g., 21% - 30%): The manuscript may be returned to the authors for revision and rewriting before the peer-review process begins.

  • High similarities (above 30%) or blatant plagiarism: The manuscript will be rejected immediately (desk rejection).

If plagiarism is discovered after the manuscript has been published, the Editor-in-Chief will conduct a preliminary investigation. If the allegations are proven, the journal reserves the right to issue a formal Retraction of the article, publish a public notice of misconduct, and notify the authors' affiliated institutions.
