Conflict of Interest Policy
INTI TALAFA requires all authors, peer reviewers, and editors to transparently declare any potential conflicts of interest related to the submitted manuscript. A conflict of interest exists when professional judgment concerning the validity, objectivity, or integrity of the research may be influenced by a secondary interest, such as financial gain, personal relationships, academic competition, or intellectual passion.
1. Authors' Obligations All authors must disclose any financial or non-financial conflicts of interest that might be construed to influence the results or interpretation of their research.
-
Examples of potential conflicts include employment, consultancies, stock ownership, honoraria, paid expert testimony, patent applications/registrations, and grants or other funding.
-
Authors must include a "Conflict of Interest" statement section at the end of their manuscript, right before the References.
-
If no conflict exists, the authors must explicitly state: "The authors declare that there is no conflict of interest regarding the publication of this article."
2. Reviewers' Obligations Reviewers must objectively evaluate the manuscript. A reviewer must decline the invitation to review a manuscript and notify the editorial team immediately if they:
-
Have a recent collaborative, financial, or close personal relationship with any of the authors.
-
Work at the same institution or university as any of the authors.
-
Feel they cannot be entirely objective in assessing the manuscript due to professional rivalry or strong differing scientific views.
3. Editors' Obligations Editors and Editorial Board members must recuse themselves from handling manuscripts (including assigning reviewers or making publication decisions) if they have a conflict of interest resulting from competitive, collaborative, or other relationships with any of the authors, companies, or institutions connected to the papers. In such cases, the manuscript will be reassigned to another editor who does not have a conflict of interest.
