URGENSI MATA KULIAH PENDIDIKAN KARAKTER DI FAKULTAS KEGURUAN DAN ILMU PENDIDIKAN DALAM KONTELASI GURU SEBAGAI ROLE MODEL BAGI PESERTA DIDIK
Abstract
The formulation of the problem in this research is the Government of Indonesia gives emphasis on the implementation of character education in the learning process in school. in practice there is reduction-reduction that resulted in character education practice is not comprehensive, because more emphasis on teaching values only that emphasis is more on the cognitive side. This research is qualitative descriptive research. This research was conducted at Universitas Negeri Gorontalo. The selection of research location is caused by Universitas Negeri Gorontalo is a state university that has the Faculty of Teacher with the most number of students in Gorontalo has a data source using purposive samples that focus on selected informants. Data needed to find out how the knowledge of students of State University of Gorontalo on character education is data collected through observation, interview and documentation study. Research subjects or respondents in this study are students of the Faculty of Education with different majors. Data analysis technique used in this research is interactive analysis with 4 component of analysis that is: 1) data collection, 2) data reduction, 3) data presentation, and 4) drawing conclusion. The data of the research are as follows: 1) based on the interview result, it can be concluded that 100% of the speakers have heard the term character education. 2) 97% of resource persons do not understand about character education 3) 97% of informants do not understand the implementation of character education 4) 100% resource persons want to teach character education to students if later teaching in school. 5) 99% of resource persons do not know how to teach character education to students.
