Abstract

The present study aims to investigate students’ learning outcomes through experimental method. this study employs classroom action research (CAR). Twenty students were chosen as the participants in this study. This research was conducted in two meetings and each cycle consisted of four stages, namely planning, implementing, observing, and reflecting. The finding indicar that in the first cycle of action, 15 students who completed the study were obtained with 75% mastery, and 65% of the observations of student learning activities. In the action cycle II, it was found that 18 students completed the study with 90% completeness and the observation of student learning activities reached 87.5%, thus, it can be concluded that learning using the experimental method can improve the learning outcomes of fourth grade students on material changes in the shape of objects at SDN 2 Japura Kidul.
