LEARNING MANAGEMENT SYSTEM MOODLE: SOLUSI PEMBELAJARAN JARAK JAUH PADA MASA PANDEMI COVID-19

Abstract

Abstrak: Negara Indonesia sedang dihadapkan permasalahan rumit dan berkepanjangan mengenai pandemi Coronavirus Disease (covid-19).  Salah satu upaya pencegahan penyebaran virus tersebut adalah dengan membuat kebijakan pembelajaran jarak jauh pada sektor pendidikan. Kebijakan pembelajaran jarak jauh secara tidak langsung telah mengubah paradigma sistem pembelajaran konvensional yang semula tatap muka di kelas kemudian berubah menjadi secara virtual dan tidak bertemu langsung di kelas. Artikel ini membahas mengenai penggunaan LMS moodle sebagai media pembelajaran jarak jauh di Universitas Muhammadiyah Cirebon serta faktor penghambat dalam penggunaannya. Dalam implementasinya, moodle menawarkan beberapa setting pembelajaran diantaranya asinkron mandiri, asinkron kolaboratif, dan sinkron maya. Beberapa fitur yang ditawarkan moodle untuk menunjang aktifitas pembelajaran adalah download, upload, assignment, forum diskusi, label, dan quiz. Hambatan yang dialami dosen dan mahasiswa umumnya adalah kurangnya pengetahuan dan informasi mengenai manajemen perkuliahan menggunakan LMS moodle dan kurang stabilnya koneksi jaringan internet.

Abstract: Indonesia is facing complex and prolonged problems regarding the Coronavirus Disease pandemic (COVID-19). One effort to prevent the spread of the virus is by making distance learning policies in the education sector. The distance learning policy has indirectly changed the paradigm of conventional learning systems, which were initially face-to-face in the classroom and then turned virtually and did not meet directly in the classroom. In this article, the researcher will discuss the use of Moodle LMS as a medium for distance learning at Universitas Muhammadiyah Cirebon and its inhibiting factors in its use. In its implementation, Moodle offers several independent asynchronous, collaborative asynchronous and virtual synchronous learning settings. Some of the features offered by Moodle to support learning activities are download, upload, assignment, forum discussions, labels, and quizzes. Barriers that were spent by lecturers and students about knowledge and information about managing lectures using Moodle LMS and unstable internet connections.
