PENGARUH COLD WATER IMMERSION TERHADAP PERSEPSI NYERI OTOT SETELAH PERTANDINGAN FUTSAL

Futsal is a high intensity-intermittent sport and need a high performance skills. An optimal recovery is strongly required after repeated intense physical exertion. The study is aimed to compared the effects of cold water immersion and passive rest on muscle soreness in collegiate futsal players after futsal match. Experimental counterbalance crossover is used in this study. Eleven collegiate futsal players participated in 2 weeks and received a different recovery strategy in different week. During week 1, all players completed all passive recovery, during week 2 all players received cold water immersion. muscle soreness perception were measured pre match, post match, post treatment, and 24 hours post treatment. The change of numeric rating scale for muscle soreness within passive recovery and cold water immersion were analyzed with independent t-test (p<0,05). There was an significant effect on muscle soreness in cryotherapy than passive rest after 24 hours after treatment (p>0,05). The conclusion is cold water immersion has higher effects in accelerate recovery in muscle soreness immediately and 24 hour after treatment.
