Morning Physical Activity Program for Increasing Physical Fitness Older Adults during Covid-19 Pandemic

Based on data in the field, many cases of death due to covid-19 occur in someone with comorbidities and in someone who is elderly. The number of elderly deaths due to covid-19, namely the age group over 60 years in Indonesia has the highest percentage of death rates due to covid-19, while in Cirebon Regency the average case of death is people with comorbidities or congenital because indeed people with comorbidities have a high risk and for the average age category is more than 50 years and over. From the data above, it is necessary to have a physical activity program solution to improve the physical fitness of the elderly during the covid-19 pandemic so that their immune system increases and they are not easily infected with the virus. The purpose of the study was to determine the effect of a physical activity program in the morning on increasing the physical fitness of the elderly. This study uses an experimental method in the form of One Group Pretest Posttest Design. The research subjects were the elderly living in the Cirebon Regency area who were selected by purposive sampling technique. The results of the research on the pretest obtained an average for the experimental group that is 531.07, the posttest obtained an average for the experimental group that is 592.40 and the results of the exercise obtained an average of 61.33. Data analysis technique using hypothesis testing through significance test with the result that is greater than where = 17.828 > 1.761. The conclusion of this study is that the physical activity program in the morning has a significant influence on the physical fitness of the elderly during the covid-19 pandemic.
