Kebijakan Dividen dalam Situasi Ketidakpastian Politik

Ketidakpastian politik berimbas terhadap kebijakan pembayaran dividen perusahaan. Ketidakpastian politik yang diproksikan dengan pemilihan umum (pemilu) skala nasional merupakan kontributor signifikan adanya asimetri informasi di pasar keuangan. Perusahaan akan berusaha menjaga pembayaran dividen kepada pemegang saham untuk menunjukkan bahwa perusahaan tidak terpengaruh oleh ketidakpastian politik yang ditandai dengan pelaksanaan pemilihan umum. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh ketidakpastian politik terhadap kebijakan dividen. Kebaruan dalam penelitian ini adalah adanya pemilihan umum yang sekaligus memilih lima lembaga yaitu DPR, DPD, DPRD I, DPRD II dan Presiden beserta Wakil Presiden. Sampel penelitian ini adalah 322 perusahaan yang terdaftar di Bursa Efek Indonesia. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa ketidakapastian politik tidak berpengaruh terhadap kebijakan dividen. Perusahaan akan selalu berusaha menjaga kesejahteraan para pemegang saham melalui kebijakan dividen, bagaimanapun kondisinya.
