Pengujian Rata-Rata Penyusutan Bahan Baku Kayu Jati Dan Mangium Setelah Melalui Proses Kiln Dry Di Pt. Jati Vision Raya (Java) Cirebon
Abstract
Abstract
Wood became one of the main raw material for manufacturing companies which are engaged in furniture. Materials handling, especially timber should be a significant focus for the company to secure its existing system. The different characteristics of the wood will affect the company's processes to be done on the handling of the wood itself. In this case the differences between the characteristics of teak and mangium possible that the two types of wood are expecting a different treatment, especially to kiln dry process (drying), which is in progress in PT. Vision Jati Raya (JAVA) Cirebon now.
This study was conducted in order to be able to analyze whether there is a difference between depreciation mangium teak and after going through the process of kiln drying systems using dry with temperatures 43-65 ° C and the duration of the process ± 15 days. Others will be analyzed too whether there is a difference between teak and wood shrinkage mengium after going through the drying process with the same treatment. The analysis conducted using the nonparametric Wilcoxon test and U Mann-Whitney test.
From this test has been carried out, with a significance level 0.05 in Wilcoxon test p value of 0.00003 obtained, this suggests that there is shrinkage in mangium and teak after going through the process of kiln-dry. While the results of U Mann-Whitney test can be seen that the two samples tested, one sample showed that the p value is 0.00003 which is smaller than alpha 0.05, this indicates that there is a difference between depreciation mangium and teak after the drying process. And two other samples obtained test results with p values (0.2627 and 0.4483) greater than alpha (0.05), this suggests that there is no significant difference between depreciation mangium and teak after going through the drying process. When viewed from the number of samples tested, one sample showed no significant difference and two samples showed no differences, the authors concluded that there was no difference in depreciation mangium teak and after drying with the same treatment, using a temperature of 43-65 C and the duration of the process ± 15 days. Thus it can be seen that the kiln dry process can now be used for two different types of wood, that is teak and mangium.
