Abstract

ABSTRACT

Every production process made by a company both in the field of service and manufacture surely wants to reach qualified production results, so that the products will be able to compete wiuth the similar ones or in the other words the prpoduct is marketable. As a result, the company's target could be fulfilled optimally and well accepted by the costumers. The products made by CV Reka Daya Mandiri is in the package of box carton in variety of size, have not produced the qualified ones, so the company's goal that is to satisfy the costumers by giving good products hasn't reached wholely. Therefore, the company needs a good method to analyse amnd solve the problems faced by it in order to reach the company's goal.

Applying three tools of quality control, i.e. hystogram, result - cause diagram, and P-control chart, the researchewr tries to solve the problem in terms of quality of package in CV Reka Daya Mandiri. He first analysed some production data samples and calculate the number of invalid product in every sampling size, so then he discovers how far the company has produced fee products well. The most important thing is to analyse the damage happened through products and search for the causes.

The results show that the damage in terms of packaging are in the form of cutting process, printing and excentrics. The causes of invalid products are in terms of human error, environment, and machines are also influence the quality of packaging. By having 26 samples and 0.098 proportion means 9.8% of invalid products analysed. Meanwhile, the company targets 10%. We then could say it is fair, but the company has to immediatly revise since the invalidity has almost reach the target.
