Traffic congestion at intersections is often caused by inefficient traffic light management, leading to uneven vehicle wait times and worsened congestion. This study aims to develop a queue management system for traffic lights at the Trusmi Plered intersection in Cirebon using the Arduino Mega 2560 and ultrasonic sensors. The system detects the queue length in each lane and prioritizes the lane with the longest queue, thereby reducing congestion. Utilizing a prototype model for system development, the research involved gathering requirements, building, coding, testing, and evaluating. Results showed that the system effectively detects queue lengths and adjusts traffic light signals in real-time. The implementation is expected to provide a solution to reduce congestion at intersections.
